Energy Monitoring Surveys

We carry out a range of Power Quality and Energy Monitoring Surveys to suit your specific requirements, according to EN Standards. The standard types of surveys requested are Power Quality & Harmonics Surveys (including EN50160 Analysis, EN 50160:2010, the new version of EN50160 – Voltage characteristics of electricity supplied by public networks) and Load Profile/Energy Surveys.

Our detailed findings, their interpretation and practical solutions are included in all our survey reports. A typical survey is carried out over a one-week period. Reports are available 2 working days after removal of power monitoring systems and equipment. Contact us to book your Energy Monitoring Survey.

Power Quality & Harmonics Surveys

All our Power Quality Surveys cover the suite of all power quality parameters, including:

  • Voltage
  • Current
  • Harmonics THD
  • Individual order harmonics & power harmonics
  • Voltage Unbalance
  • Power Frequency
  • Flicker

Voltage Transient Disturbances and Voltage Sags/Swell are also recorded based on triggered and captured events. Detailed findings, their interpretation and practical solutions are included in all our reports.

The Unipower Unilyzer 902 (from the Unipower range of power quality analyzers) is typically used for power quality surveys. The Unipower Unilyzer 902 is a high performance instrument for simultaneous disturbance and norm compliance measurements. The Unipower Unilyzer 902 includes all necessary hardware and software for true three-phase measurements, including voltage quality parameters such as unbalance (IEC 61000-4-30), harmonics (IEC 61000-47) and flicker (IEC 61000-4-15).

Load Profile Surveys

Load Profile Surveys are typically used for evaluating transformer loads and connected load power factor. All Load Profile Studies include measurements for a typical load cycle:

  • The site load [kW]
  • Apparent power/MIC [kVA]
  • Power factor
  • Maximum/minimum and average values of Voltage
  • Current

Load Profile Surveys can be used to evaluate available capacity of existing transformers, available current carrying capacity of existing cables or suitability/performance of power factor correction equipment.
